As a Case Assistant, you will collaborate closely with our Case Managers to streamline the processing of legal documents and manage requests from non-parties in litigation cases. We are currently looking for a detail-oriented and efficient Case Assistant to join our dynamic team in Austin, Texas.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in legal studies or administration is a plus
- Customer- focused communication skills
- Outgoing and positive disposition.
- Experience handling confidential and sensitive information
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining up to 90+ phone calls
- Managing workload to ensure scheduling reminders
- Making waiver calls to opposing counsel as assigned by Case Manager.
- Confirming pre-pays are within limitations and regulations and prepares same for delivery to Custodians; checks. Client Preferences prior to submitting payment; makes notes of same in database and follows up as appropriate.
- Checking in and verifying all mail has complete responses on legal documents, making notes of receipt and content of mail in database, pulling work orders to attach to mail, when needed to back-up Check-In Department.
- Reviewing legal responses and records to verify they are on correct subject and are complete; consults with Case Manager as required.
- Drafting status reports to clients for Case Manager to complete, when requested.
- Drafting custodian fee approval emails or emails detailing other problems, when necessary.
