Description:
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
As a Case Manager on the Residential Facility team you will be responsible for providing ongoing support and supervision to the residents of the CRF. This support includes crisis prevention &intervention, behaviour management, liaising with and making referrals to community resources, and administrative tasks. Residents of the CRF are women who have been in conflict with the law and are on community release (I.e., Probation, Conditional Sentence, Parole). The Case Manager will work collaboratively with clients and other residential staff to empower clients to progress toward and achieve set personal development goals including program attendance and engagement, securing housing, and maintaining positive connections within the community. The overall goal for clients at the end of their residency, is to feel confident and secure in their reintegration into the community, achieved by individualized Residential Action Plans.
You will attend various women’s correctional institutions for programming and to complete interviews, building rapport prior to a residents arrival at the CRF. You will be required to participate in the on-call rotation; assist in developing the staff schedule; oversee the property maintenance of the CRF. Additional duties include agency representation on community and institutional committees, public presentations, policy, program and proposal writing, and social media contributions. The Case Manager facilitates the ongoing review and development of programs; establishes a working rapport with CSC, MCSS, police, institutions, National Parole Board and Executive Director.
The CRF is a single-staff work environment, with an expectation to work positively and cooperatively with other members of the Residential Facility Team. The ability to work collaboratively and respectfully with clients, staff and community partners is essential. The Case Manager reports directly to the Manager of the Community Residential Facility.
Staff are required to be available for a variety of shifts in this 24/7 program including days, afternoons, overnights and weekends.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Services field, or equivalent combination of education and experience;
Knowledge of criminal justice system is mandatory; family law knowledge and experience considered an asset;
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience working in a non-profit organization OR in a criminal justice service delivery environment;
Skilled in property management; strong administration and organizational skills; strong verbal/written communication
Experience networking and creating relationships for the purposes of program delivery and expansion;
Experience with data collection and management;
Familiarity with relevant community resources;
Strong computer skills, including website and social media management;
Experience working in deadline-driven setting, proven project management skills; strong oral and written communication skills; current CPR/First Aid certification and a current CPIC are required.
French language skills considered an asset.
