Description:

  • Full Time position based in Nerang, Gold Coast
  • $83K - $104K inclusive of Super + Salary Packaging (salary dependent on qualifications and experience)

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

You will have a tertiary (degree) qualification in Social Work, Welfare or Psychology or related discipline and:

  • Demonstrated experience in working with high risk children and families involved in the Child Protection system, including the application of high quality practical and therapeutic intervention and casework skills
  • High level of interpersonal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with families from a range of diverse backgrounds, government departments, non-government sector and related service providers
  • High level understanding of preventative and early intervention approaches in child and family support; including demonstrated experience in partnering with parents in the development of family plans which are outcome driven and needs met.
  • Effective assessment skills, case management skills and knowledge and experience in therapeutic interventions
  • Current driver’s license , and a valid Blue Card.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

Our Early Years Centers are community hubs offering child health services, supported playgroups, family support and early childhood education whilst focusing on early intervention and prevention to ultimately empower children and families. We are a supportive, multidisciplinary team with a broad range of early childhood teachers and educators, social workers, midwives, child health nurses and allied health qualified professionals committed to high quality work providing wrap around early intervention services.
As our Case Manager, you will manage a client caseload referred by government and non-government organisations as well as self-referrals from families. You will work in partnership with families to assess strengths, needs and risks, develop, implement, and periodically review case plans as well as make referrals that successfully link families to appropriate networks with an emphasis on building resilience and promoting stronger attachments.

DUTIES

  • Develop and facilitate child-centered, culturally sensitive and developmentally appropriate programs that meet the needs, interests and strengths of children (0-8) and families.
  • Facilitate our play programs, specialist groups, offer targeted family support and deliver parenting programs.
  • Partnering with families, you will undertake assessments, identify strengths, increase capacity for resilience and promote positive family relationships.
  • Empower families to make lasting change, build upon their resilience to respond to life’s challenges and make referrals to appropriate networks.
