JOB DESCRIPTION

An exciting and new opportunity has become available for Cash Up Clerk on a 6-month fixed term contract basis. Our ideal candidate will be based in our Support Centre in George. Our ideal candidate must be self-motivated, positive, and passionate about performance, a resilient individual who can think laterally and who has strong analytical abilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Computer Literacy
  • Math Literacy

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience as a Cashier and Admin
  • The ability to work diligently, responsibly, effectively and unsupervised
  • The ability to interact smoothly with the Line-Manager and other staff in the Department
  • Competency in reading, writing and understanding English
  • Competency in basic Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.
  • The ability to maintain an organized workflow
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self-motivation and the ability to take initiative and be proactive
  • Good time-management skills
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A mature and professional attitude
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in good writing

Responsibilities:

  • Daily auditing of Cash Ups Masterfile Recon in order to reconcile Cash and Cards to the banking.
  • Allocating discrepancies correctly with the right reason codes.
  • Doing follow-ups on outstanding queries.
  • Saving and filing electronically of Cash Up documentation correctly.
  • Reporting discrepancies in time and accurately.
  • Reaching given deadlines on time.
  • Ensuring that the money is banked accordingly.
