The Cash Vault Clerk is responsible for the daily handling, counting, and reconciliation of cash and other monetary instruments within the company’s vault. This role ensures accuracy and security in all cash transactions and supports the cash vault supervisor in maintaining smooth operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following, other duties may be assigned)

  • Execute assigned task in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, and coordinate with Security on physical controls and safety.
  • Handle and process cash, checks, and other monetary instruments securely.
  • Accurately count and verify cash deposits and withdrawals.
  • Prepare cash orders for distribution to various departments or locations.
  • Reconcile cash balances at the start and end of each shift.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of all cash vault transactions.
  • Ensure the security and organization of the cash vault at all times.
  • Assist with cash transfers to and from armored carriers.
  • Report discrepancies or security issues to the Cash Vault Supervisor.
  • Support audits and assist in resolving discrepancies.
  • Assist in maintaining vault inventory levels and preparing cash orders.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

COMPUTER SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient with Excel, Word, Microsoft Outlook, internet access and E-mail.

OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES

Ability to work in a team environment and be flexible in learning other team member tasks and duties as needed.
