Description:

MITT is a post-secondary institute offering industry-driven, student-focused education in the areas of applied business, design and manufacturing technology, health care, human services, information communication technology, and skilled trades. We provide affordable, timely, skills-based education for learners seeking career entry as well as those looking to acquire relevant, in-demand competencies at any point in life.

RATE OF PAY: $35.23 PER HOUR

MITT is seeking energetic and knowledgeable casual instructors for its English Language Institute programs. The hours of work are as required, Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Click here to learn more about MITT’s English language programs.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree
  • TESL certificate from an institution recognized by TESL Canada or Languages Canada.
  • Experience in ESL education and/or international language program required.
  • Demonstrates sensitivity to and a thorough understanding of the needs and issues of international students.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Demonstrates the ability to manage and have control over a classroom.
  • Ability to enforce all school policies, especially as they relate to student honesty and integrity.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • Some teaching experience is preferred (a successfully completed practicum at the very minimum).
  • Experience with adult learners in a post-secondary environment preferred.
  • Experience with international students in a post-secondary environment preferred.
