We are currently seeking a Casual Healthcare Aide Companion to join our team at The Journey Club in the prestigious, active, and vibrant community of Westman Village in Calgary, AB.
As a Casual Healthcare Aide, you deliver resident-focused care within the full scope of practice of an HCA role. You’ll work in a home-like environment with the utmost respect towards the individuality and dignity of each resident, family member and co-worker you interact with. You come to the table with a flexible schedule that could consist of days, evenings, nights, and weekends - in a casual capacity.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A HEALTHCARE AIDE AT THE JOURNEY CLUB:

  • Perform the responsibilities of the position within the legislative and regulatory standards set out in the applicable Provincial and Municipal Acts as well as the responsibilities consistent with Operational Policies.
  • Participate in all aspects of personal resident care to ensure the physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs of each resident/family are met.
  • Responsible for adhering to and seeking guidance on the principles of safe medication assistance and ensuring medication is taken as intended by the prescriber.
  • Deliver effective and efficient care under the direction of the supervisor.
  • Promote resident/family choice and acknowledges the resident strengths, limitations, as well as their need for safety and the safety of other resident/family and staff.
  • Protect own health and health of others by adopting safe work practices, reporting unsafe conditions immediately, and attending all relevant in-services regarding occupational health and safety.
  • Follow all guidelines for employees and employers as legislated under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
