CASUAL WORKERS

Are you passionate about assisting others in their quest for information? Would you like to be at the centre of your community, delivering an essential public service to everyone?
If this sounds like you, we are seeking friendly and approachable Casual library staff to work throughout Bristol. Your role will involve covering for staff absences due to sickness or holidays, helping us maintain and enhance our high-quality service.
You will perform various tasks to keep the libraries running smoothly. This includes processing new materials with our library computer system, responding to email and phone inquiries, and unpacking and organising items that arrive in crates from different parts of the city. We will provide training in manual handling, display screen equipment, and other areas to ensure that all tasks are completed safely.

We particularly welcome applications from people who are able to work in the following libraries/shifts.

  • Junction 3 Easton, in particular lunch cover and short shifts.
  • Bishopston/Clifton/ Redland, all day Saturday and lunch cover/short shifts throughout the week.
  • Whitchurch/Stockwood/Hartcliffe, all day Saturday and lunch cover/short shifts throughout the week.
  • Knowle/Wick Road/Filwood, all day and lunch cover/short shifts throughout the week.
