ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY - CASUAL
Live and work on the iconic Northern Beaches of Sydney at NBH! We are seeking enthusiastic and clinically experienced nurses whom are passionate about patient care to join our professional Emergency team. We offer state of the art equipment in world class facilities, utilising EMR (electronic medical records) and MEDCHART (medication management/administration) systems. We are inclusive with diverse and friendly teams, with options for flexible shifts so you can achieve the balance you desire.
Our Emergency Department (ED) is located on the ground floor, providing 24/7 care to residents and visitors of the Northern Beaches community. The unit comprises of 50 beds and treatment spaces, the large ground floor area is divided into zones:
- Paediatrics
- 24 hour Short stay
- Adult acute assessment
- Resuscitation
- Mental health assessment
As an Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN), you will deliver researched-based standards of nursing care. As a RN, you will take a leadership role in the coordination of nursing care and work in partnership with Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and Assistants in Nursing (AINs) providing supervision, direction and guidance to deliver patient care. You will also provide support and guidance to nursing peers and patients for the management of their health care, rehabilitation or end of life needs and maintain a professional development portfolio with a commitment to ongoing learning and development.
Responsibilities:
- Current Registration with AHPRA or In-Principle approval
- a minimum 3 years’ experience in a Critical Care or Emergency Nursing environment
- Desired: Post Graduate Certificate in Emergency Nursing (or working towards)
- Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
- Sound clinical decision making and problem solving skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Works well independently and within a team
