Description:
The On Call- Casual Worker, under the supervision of the Guardian program and the Yinka Huwunline manager, will be responsible for filling various Field Assistant positions to represent Nak’azdli Whut’en as a participant. They shall be responsible for assisting and accompanying various industry representative on Nak’azdli territory that include mostly field-based activities as directed by their field supervisor which will often be 3rd party proponents (such as Ecofor, Archer, Stantec, etc).

Type: Contractual Part Time for 6 months
Duties:
- Participate in safety assessments and tailgate meetings
- Understand and conduct various field work activities
- Effectively provide support to field crew as directed by team lead
- May walk long distances over challenging terrain, and/or in the bush
- May be asked to provide knowledge of the lands and associated area (as a Keyoh representative)
- Observe, record and report wildlife and/or other environmental topics
- May have archeological, biology or hydrology duties, dependent on assigned work project
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES & SKILLS:
- Grade 10 Diploma an asset
- Post-Secondary accreditations an asset
- Environmental monitoring or related experience
- Effective interpersonal communication
- Working knowledge of digital and physical filing systems
- Experience with All Terrain Vehicles
- Knowledge of backroad practices and safety
- Experience reading maps and navigating
- Clear Criminal Record Check
- Valid BC Class 5 Drivers license and Abstract
