CASUALTY PROGRAM MANAGER

The AXA XL North America Programs Unit provides customized program solutions and underwriting capacity for market-leading delegated-authority Program Administrator partners who underwrite and administer Property and/or Casualty programs on our behalf.
As the Casualty Program Manager, you play an integral role supporting underwriters to increase market share while maintaining the highest standards of underwriting discipline as you accept referrals, review, evaluate, select, classify, price, rate and quote risks that are determined to be acceptable.

What will your essential responsibilities include?

  • Manage the Casualty Programs portfolio and P&L in North America (with specific responsibilities associated with financial deliverables, underwriting standards, operational standards, client engagement responsibilities, and growth goals.
  • Responsible for the development, communication, execution, and monitoring of the North America casualty programs strategy.
  • Lead the growth strategy for the casualty programs by achieving budgeted premium volume for all programs and ensuring there is support for new program enhancements.
  • Ensure successful completion of Audits of all casualty programs, report out on audit reports and ensure compliance with all recommendations made in accordance with division standards for timeliness. Manage adherence to Underwriting Guidelines for all programs managed.
  • Manage compliance with Rules and Guidelines to AXA standards.
  • Support review and analysis discussions with the Americas Regional Leadership team reporting on financial performance.
  • Accountable for soliciting and underwriting new programs in support of the successful execution of strategic operating and marketing plans.
  • Oversee proper program design through the elements of proper risk selection, mix of business management, pricing strategies, and adherence to underwriting guidelines.
  • Responsible for supporting territory producer management of distribution plans, including maintaining existing relationships, geographical expansion, and new appointment prospecting.
  • Provide necessary underwriting and tactical support to colleagues.
  • Assist the Americas Programs leadership team as necessary on project work to expand the appetite and product offerings of the Programs unit.

You will report to Head of Large Commercial.

DESIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • A bachelor’s degree is required for this role. Designations or progress towards same is preferred including, but not limited to: CPCU, AMIM, and ARM, preferred.
  • A deep level of casualty programs underwriting experience.
  • A knowledge of both property and casualty business at both an individual account and portfolio level.
  • Capable of influencing delegated authority partner decision making.
  • Professional designations, certificates, or other insurance classes are highly desired.
  • Recognized expert and specialization in the programs industry.
  • Business development leader with a successful track record driving profitable growth.
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication, networking, marketing, collaboration skills evidencing public speaking and presentation experience.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with customers, producers, and trading partners.
  • Robust technical skills with Microsoft Office and other relevant systems. Travel of up to 10% of the time is anticipated.
