Your Responsibilities
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
- People management/leadership experience
- Casualty/liability risk surveying, account management & consulting experience within a carrier or broker environment preferred.
- Strong consultancy skills desired including commercial proposal writing experience
- Liability claims knowledge & experience beneficial
- Legal background or experience beneficial
- Strong Health and Safety knowledge and experience. CMIOSH (or progress towards) beneficial. At least Nebosh Certificate and preferably Nebosh Diploma or equivalent
- Motor fleet / work related driving risk management experience beneficial
- The ability to deliver client training remotely and in person on a variety of relevant subjects would be beneficial
- Relevant qualifications or industry accreditations beneficial
- Strong project management skills and ability to set reasonable expectations, coordinate project teams (including outsource services) where necessary, and meet deadlines
- The ability to oversee and/or support multiple projects
- Intellectual curiosity and ability to quickly understand the business model of various companies
- Works effectively individually and in a team-oriented group setting
- The ability and experience to deliver client projects across a range of industry sectors
- Construction experience beneficial
- The ability to prepare and deliver professional reports and presentations, with attention to detail, to clients & prospects
- Effective interpersonal, communication and client facing skills.

Responsibilities:
The Casualty Team Leader will be responsible for leading and developing Lockton’s liability, health and safety, claims defensibility and motor fleet consulting proposition. Working with the Head of Risk Control Services and the team, the Casualty Team Leader will further develop and execute a strategy that enhances Lockton’s Casualty risk consulting approach and solutions for our clients.
The Casualty Team Leader will lead and support the delivery of significant client opportunities and projects, working closely with casualty colleagues and others across the wider Risk Control Services team.
The Casualty Team Leader will be expected to assist in the shaping of this role and maximize opportunities to:
- Deliver solutions and enhanced value to clients
- Support new business opportunities
- Develop revenue opportunities in line with Lockton values
Enhance Lockton’s risk management/consulting approach including via the use of technologyIdentify and provide business cases for further team and client service investment
The Casualty Team Leader role will include developing solutions and working with clients to assess their Health and Safety compliance, maturity and key exposures linked to Casualty underwriting, and to develop strategies and provide practical support to improving client health and safety and casualty risk management maturity and standards. You will be able to produce professional reports, account overviews and, when required, produce executive summaries and stewardship reports to clients, internal teams, and the insurance market for client marketing purposes.
The role will involve supporting the development and mentoring of colleagues in adopting a consultancy-based and risk partnering approach, bringing a commercial mindset whilst ensuring Lockton values and client focus is maintained.
Qualifications
Whilst it is anticipated that the majority of time will be spent supporting the UK business and clients, as Lockton continues to expand its International operations, there may be a need to support and respond to projects from the international businesses and from UK domiciled operations with operations globally. This may require international travel from time to time.
This role will be suited to a senior casualty/liability/health and safety risk professional with people leadership and solid technical and consulting experience who is looking for an exciting opportunity to work in a growing team at the centre of the Lockton business delivering value to Lockton clients.
Casualty Insurance knowledge and experience of delivering projects relating to casualty insurance exposures and typical Insurer requirements is desired but candidates with strong Industry, H&S and liability claims experience will also be considered.
This will be a home working position but with the expectation to travel to client locations throughout the UK, to support our local offices and with some travel into Lockton’s London Head Office. You will be expected to engage with and form close relationships with client-facing colleagues across the Lockton business to realise opportunities to support existing clients and new business.
