Short description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Buyer to join our partner company and lead their category procurement activities in Hungary and Europe. This role is essential for ensuring that plants and commercial operations receive the highest quality supplies at the best possible terms. This position will be responsible for executing and optimizing the sourcing strategy, ensuring a perfect balance between cost, quality, and customer expectations. Collaborating closely with the Procurement Manager and other key stakeholders and drive cost-saving initiatives and ensure compliance with ethical standards throughout the procurement process.
Tasks
- Execute the sourcing strategy, focusing on cost, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor and translate market information into actionable strategies.
- Align and execute a food sourcing strategy that maximizes value for the company.
- Manage suppliers and secure contractual compliance.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards during supplier selection and throughout procurement activities.
- Prepare and distribute accurate reports and market updates.
- Support the New Product Development process with pricing and specifications.
- Drive continuous improvement in quality, cost, payment terms, and service levels.
- Ensure procurement readiness for audits and maintain data accuracy in transactional systems.
- Collaborate with various teams to secure competitive new sources for materials.
- Willingness to travel as required by the role.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher vocational education.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in procurement or related fields, in the food industry.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Strong project management and client-handling skills.
- A deep understanding of category management in a CPG/FMCG environment.
- Demonstrated sense of ownership, result-driven, and an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, with a commitment to continuous improvement.
