Job description:

The role we offer is a Category Manager for Compressor Wheel Forgings. You may be just starting your career with some work experience, or have you gained certain seniority already? We are open to consider both and offer attractive career pathway!
You will be reporting to the Global Category Manager Precision Castings and Forgings, based in Baden, Switzerland.

Your responsibilities:

  • Implementing effective sourcing strategies in line with the Continuous Improvement Process, Sourcing process and business strategy, ensuring that suppliers can meet current and future business requirements, as well as ensuring the implementation of category strategies and execute processes accordingly.
  • Responsible for supplier evaluation, qualification, development, price, and frame agreement negotiations.
  • Choosing appropriate suppliers (focusing on quality, delivery, cost and sustainability) in accordance with company policies.
  • Development and qualification of parts with supplier and internal stakeholders acc. to Accelleron qualification process.
  • Continuous improvement of delivery quality and further development of supplier performance.
  • Constantly define improvement of value chain with focus to shorten lead time and optimize logistic processes, considering total cost.
  • Participate in product development projects and support Global Category Manager in their area of responsibility.
  • Responsible for relocation, development and qualification of parts with supplier and internal stakeholders acc. to Accelleron qualification process until first article inspection passed and transfer to buyer organization. Maintain and monitor periodical repeat and serial tests.
  • Initiate and handling of design modification request with design.
  • Contributing to and participating in setting and implementing budget and targets within the framework, and ensuring that sourcing performance targets are achieved.

Your background:

  • Preferably bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (industrial, mechanical) and with technical acumen or similar.
  • Min. of 5 years’ work experience in a similar position.
  • Technical background and profound supply management commercial understanding.
  • Experienced in strategic supply chain/procurement in an international environment.
  • Strong experience in supplier development and quality improvement,
  • Project Management experience in an international context, persistent in execution.
  • Experienced handling of SAP and Office tools.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • A collaborative and solution-focused approach as well as strong communication skills.
  • Ambition to lead cross functional teams in an international environment.
  • Good command both in English and German.
  • Team player approach.
  • Willingness to travel 5-15%.
