The Category Manager is responsible for developing and execution of the company’s commodity strategies covering Europe-Africa-Middle East Outside Machining, Fabrications and Raw Materials for Flowserve corporate functions and business platforms. This role will partner with stakeholders to drive best in class performance through category transformation and work to increase supplier performance, material availability, and implement cost reduction initiatives.
This position will work closely with key business stakeholders to develop effective cost reduction strategies and implementation plans. The ideal candidate must be able to build and maintain highly effective relationships internally and externally, have a passion for results, a drive for success, and a high business acumen.
We are looking for a detailed oriented, motivated self-starter with a keen ability to communicate with diverse groups, strong negotiation skills, strategic thinker and a results-driven individual.

REQUIREMENTS:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 7 years overall supply chain management or related experience.
  • Knowledge of machining, fabrications, and metal raw materials markets.
  • Experience leading supplier relationship management with key strategic suppliers.
  • Proven track record of successfully working with multi-site, matrixed organizations, and leading cross-functional teams to develop and implement sourcing strategies for cost reduction.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, understand and interpret mechanical prints and files.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of contract terms and conditions and supply chain best practices.
  • Demonstrate experience in a formal and disciplined New Product Development process (e.g. Stage-Gate).

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPM, CPSM, CPIM (APICS), or other Strategic Sourcing certification
  • Experience sourcing and partnering with stakeholders globally

Responsibilities:

  • Drive, coordinate and implement via Category leads and cross functional teams sourcing strategies for assigned commodities with global, regional and site alignment
  • Lead and manage Sourcing Projects/Strategic Initiatives via Cross-Functional teams (Product Management, Engineering/Quality/Site supply chain leads) using APQP/PPAP and supplier surveillance processes
  • Drive business reviews/negotiations/supply agreements with key suppliers and manage relationships
  • Prepare business case study with savings, investments ROI calculations as and when required for critical projects
  • Develop an optimized supply base based on strategic importance/procurement value/risk dependency aspects and performance levels
  • Benchmark Global/Regional Outside Machining supply markets for driving maximum value to the business on a longer term
  • Participate, and intensify key supplier relationships using strategic alliance models with emphasis
  • Budget, plan, and track Spend/Savings/Low-Cost Sourcing % and actively ensure completion with sites and regional alignment
  • Lead global negotiations, manage business reviews/supply agreements with key suppliers with the help of Category leads and cross-functional supply chain teams
  • Develop and deploy comprehensive low-cost sourcing strategies with the help of LCS teams within site regions
  • Track and report cost savings and other KPI’s associated with responsibilities.
