Category Manager, Indirect Sourcing

POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT:

The primary responsibility of this position is to execute sourcing strategies and supplier management strategies to reduce costs without compromising quality. The Category Manager – Indirect Sourcing will be responsible for global category analysis, leading the RFx process, creating Purchase Orders and negotiating contracts with suppliers. The individual will be responsible for strategic sourcing, negotiations and management of major global contracts for the company. This position will support the management of medium to high complex projects by analyzing, reporting and researching, maintaining database information and executing tasks in an efficient and timely manner.

Skills:

• Effectively communicates ideas in written and verbal communication
• Strong strategic and analytical skills to develop complex multi-year strategic business plans
• Effectively build a pipeline of deals and develop the appropriate resourcing plans.
• Advanced computer skills
• Ability multi-task various projects and achieve timely results by effectively and efficiently prioritizing tasks and projects
• 5+ years of leading global sourcing initiatives in Logistics category
• Must be results oriented
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Intermediate project management skills
• Team player with ability to work with associates from other countries/regions
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence others without authority
• Ability to express personal point of view in a constructive and direct manner
• Fully bilingual English/Spanish

Experience:

• 7+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, consulting, vendor management, contracts, and/or procurement (required)
• 5+ years experience in depth experience of contracts and working in Logistics category

Education:

• Bachelors Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business or related field
• CPM/CPSM certified or equivalent or SME experience required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• MBA or JD preferred
• Six Sigma Black Belt preferred
