Description:
OBJECTIVE
As a Category Manager, you will take full ownership of our restoration and abatement product lines, optimizing their performance by analyzing data, understanding customer behavior, and collaborating with vendors. This role requires a strategic mindset, focusing on developing and executing category plans, pricing, and promotional strategies to align with business goals.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in category management or procurement, preferably in industrial distribution.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a focus on building relationships.
- Knowledge of market trends, supply chain processes, and vendor management best practices.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Some travel will be required (approx. 20%)

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Category Manager to join our dynamic team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement category strategies in partnership with internal teams (e.g., Sales, Marketing, Operations) and vendors to align with business goals, driving growth and profitability.
- Assess competitive landscapes and industry trends to identify opportunities for product introductions, cost savings, or category expansion.
- Act as the main vendor liaison, negotiating terms to ensure suppliers meet delivery, quality, and pricing expectations. Explore partnerships to optimize sourcing.
- Use sales data and market analysis to set competitive prices, design promotions, and refine product positioning to enhance visibility and customer appeal.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), customer feedback, and sales data to make data-driven improvements in product assortment, pricing, and marketing.
- Act as the product evangelist and subject matter expert, providing training and support to internal teams, sales channels, and customers. Be the go-to expert for the assigned product categories. Train internal teams (e.g., Sales, Customer Service) on product features, benefits, and market positioning. Support sales channels with resources to effectively promote and sell products to end customers.
