We are looking for Category Manager to join us and manage our Technical Site Services, Technical Contractor Recruitment & Engineering Consultancy services. You can be based anywhere in the UK, with occasional travel require to our sites.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Preferred Qualifications : Chartered (MCIPS) status is preferred, with additional post-graduate or professional qualifications in relevant areas, especially degrees and formal management credentials.
  • Strategic Sourcing and Contractual Expertise : Extensive experience in high-value strategic sourcing for complex services, with a proven ability to develop contractual agreements in high-risk environments.
  • Advanced Procurement Techniques : Skilled in applying advanced techniques, including outsourcing, global supply chains, value engineering, and optimizing spend through demand, supply, and process levers.
  • Negotiation and Leadership Skills : Demonstrated capability in complex negotiations, managing multi-disciplinary teams, and effectively leading tender processes and contract negotiations (NEC, RWE bespoke, MF templates).
  • Project and Stakeholder Management : Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders, working effectively under tight deadlines with minimal guidance and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Industry Knowledge and Flexibility : Deep understanding of supply markets, cost and value drivers within the category, and commitment to flexibility in meeting business needs within a large corporate structure.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, review, and align category strategies to maximize value and service across RWE Generation UK and the wider group.
  • Establish transparency in spend, identify savings opportunities, and monitor supplier performance, trends, and landscape within the category.
  • Foster strong stakeholder relationships to ensure effective customer relations and strategic alignment with RWE Generation UK and group-wide objectives.
  • Collaborate with business units to develop and validate category demand plans and ensure UK demand is represented in strategies.
  • Lead complex supplier negotiations and govern sourcing processes to ensure optimal execution and compliance within the category.Conduct contract reviews, support continuity during “Outage” periods, and coordinate workload planning with Procurement and Technical Officers.
