JOB SUMMARY

  • A Server/food runner provides food and beverage service for events in ways of set up, teamwork, communication and service while maintaining LA Chef’s standards of excellence.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITIONS

  • Possess some food and beverage training
  • Excellent organizational skills and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work varying hours for Event Scheduling
  • Good communication skills
  • If over 18, Pro-Serve Certified (Must have for Bartender positions)

QUALIFICATIONS FOR BARTENDERS

  • Working knowledge of beer, wine, liquor and common drink recipes.
  • Good communication skills and basic math skills.
  • Pro-Serve Certified

JOB SUMMARY

  • An Event Supervisor is expected to take full responsibility for assigned specific events, leading a team of servers to ensure that the event runs smoothly and according to the client and LA Chef’s expectations. This position requires the ability to multitask, problem-solve, and stay calm in stressful and time-sensitive situations.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION

  • Must have previous experience as a Server and a strong knowledge of food and service procedures
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must have Pro-Serve Liquor Training Certificate and Food Safe Certificate Must be trained in Event Supervision and on LA Chefs training manual for Supervision
  • Must have the desire to teach and empower others

DURING EVENT

  • Depending on the shift timing, this supervisor may be responsible for the set-up, the execution, or the takedown of the event – or a combination of all three.
  • Make contact with the Host of the event to ensure timing and flow of the event, keep contact with the Host throughout the event to ensure all expectations are being met or exceeded.
  • Maintain a cheerful and professional attitude with all clients, guests, servers, kitchen staff, as well as all vendors at various venues.
  • Handle client concerns in a caring, professional manner seeking help from Managers when needed.
  • If there is a bar, prepare the liquor and obtain the float.
  • Able to serve a multi-course meal efficiently and fluidly.
  • Should be able to make the guests and clients feel at ease and create a comfortable environment.
  • Ensure that all staff and bartenders are following AGLC rules and regulations, as well as LA Chefs’ policies and procedures with respect to bar operations.
  • Responsible for closing down the bar and balancing the cash at the end of the shift.
  • Communicate with the kitchen staff regarding timing, refilling of buffet items, etc.

Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES/ ABILITIES: SERVER /FOOD RUNNER POSITIONS

  • Set up of all tables, chairs, linens, stations or bars for events.
  • Positive professional appearance, mannerisms, and attitude. Has a sense of urgency when on the service floor and in the back of house. Seeks advice and help when needed.
  • Completes all tasks assigned by Event Supervisors and Managers in a detailed mannerism.
  • Keeps and maintains open communication between all coworkers before, during, and after an event.
  • Keeps up to date with changes in the company’s policies, procedures, and rules.
  • Service of meals, refilling of water jugs and stations while tending to miscellaneous needs requested by guests and/or Supervisors or Managers. Should be able to provide information about the meal they are served by means of reading a banquet event order.
  • Responsible for clearing dishes and preparing them for dishwashers throughout an event or set up of an event. Once guests have left for the evening the server will clear the table of all remaining items and organize them in their respective storage areas.
  • Attentive but not intrusive.
  • Knowledgeable of food and able to answer questions guests may have. Able to multitask. Able to serve a multi-course meal efficiently and fluidly. Should be able to make the guests and clients feel at ease and create a comfortable environment.
  • Remains professional at all times even in stressful situations.
  • Ability to drive a cube van
  • Responsible for ensuring food quality during transport
  • Great time management skills

RESPONSIBILITIES/ ABILITIES: BARTENDER POSITIONS

  • Set-up, serving, and breakdown of all bars on catered events to LA Chefs Standards of operations.
  • Ability to take multiple drink orders and make them.
  • Ability to work with others and maintain great relationships with all customers.
  • Ability to make guests and clients feel at ease and create a comfortable environment.
