Job Title: Catering Manager
Grade/Salary: Grade D Point 5 £24790 – 8 £25,992, SCP 5-8 pro rata - actual starting salary will be based on part time/term time.
Contract Type: Part time/Permanent - Term Time only + 5 additional days
Closing Date: Friday 22nd November
Reporting to: Headteacher / School Business Manager
Responsible for: Management of kitchen and all catering staff

MAIN PURPOSE

To take responsibility for the safe, effective and efficient operation of all activities in the kitchen.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Meal planning and provision

• Prepare and cook high-quality school meals in line with government guidelines and legislation on school nutrition standards.
• Produce meals taking into account dietary needs of pupils
• Plan varied and nutritious menus in advance
• Regularly review and revise menus with the pupils and School Business Manager, to ensure a strong uptake of school meals
• Negotiate best-value contracts with authorised suppliers to ensure the cost effectiveness of the catering service
• Manage food stocks to prevent shortages or excess supply and adhere to the catering budget
• Cater to special dietary requirements and ensure that allergy information is effectively communicated and labelled
• Ensure you complete relevant training and are up to date with Health and Safety requirements and Allergen requirements
• Maintain our 5-star kitchen standards of hygiene and cleanliness
• To provide additional catering services within school, in consultation with the Headteacher/School Business Manager
