EDUCATION:

  • Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or equivalent.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in the area of polyolefin catalysts or process technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all customer technical questions or claims are satisfactorily answered, including all issues regarding catalyst safe handling, use or performance.
  • Ensure the continuity of catalyst business at licensees after the start-up of new plants. In order to maintain the catalyst business, technical support for the correct catalyst implementation must be provided and troubleshooting of catalyst related issues granted. In collaboration with Technology Transfer department, provide the required technical support to LYB licensees having Technical Service Agreement.
  • Ensure the success of new PP and PE catalyst trials and determine the necessary resources/technical information and/or training to support the customers in order to make the trials a success. In order to maintain and grow the catalyst business, new and improved catalysts must be offered and successfully demonstrated to customers. Customer needs must be identified and properly matched with the appropriate catalyst. When necessary, modifications to the catalyst itself, or its use, must be proposed to ensure key performance criteria are met.
  • Provide technical liaison between catalyst customers and other LYB departments, in particular Technology Business and R&D. The Catalyst Technical Service Representative has intimate knowledge regarding customer requirements as well as Technology capabilities, and is in a unique position to bridge these two groups to ensure “market pull” is properly influencing Technology programs.
  • Collect information on competitors’ catalysts, performance and price through site visits and discussions with customers. This information is critical to the successful development of our business strategies.
  • Maintain regular contact with customers and react proactively in the case customer catalyst concerns might arise.
