Northern Divine Aquafarms Ltd. is one of Canada’s first closed-containment, freshwater, recirculating aquaculture systems. We rear Fraser River White Sturgeon for meat and caviar production. Our caviar is internationally recognized, raised on pristine, recirculated well water with no antibiotics or added hormones. We also raise Coho salmon for the live egg industry, supplying the emerging land-based aquaculture sector with a unique product to grow in farms around the world.
Responsibilities:
Cutting, processing, and packaging large fish
Processing salting, curing and packing Caviar and Roe according to food and safety grade standards
Ensure that all products meet or exceed all Quality specifications currently in place at the seafood processing facility
Respond to non-compliant quality issues, should they arise, and inform the Processing Facility Manager of quality issues
Take a proactive approach to potential production issues
Ensure that all processes are executed efficiently and effectively
Collaborate with team members to develop and implement process improvements
Monitor and analyze production data to identify areas for improvement
Train and mentor team members on proper processes and procedures
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
Address possible employee behavioral issues and enforce company policies related to such, as health and safety
Perform other duties as assigned by the Processing Facility Manager or Supervisors
Experience/Requirements:
Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or production setting
Strong knowledge and understanding of production processes
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong communication and leadership abilities
Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
Physical requirements include but are not limited to lifting up to 50 pounds, crouching, kneeling and standing while in a cool/wet environment.
