QUALIFICATIONS TO BECOME A CBSA SECURITY GUARD IN SURREY:

  • A valid British Columbia security guard license
  • A valid and current First Aid Level 1 (OFA1)
  • Advanced Security Training (AST)
  • Canadian citizenship or Permanent residence status
  • High School diploma / Proof of education
  • Ability to pass a Public Works Clearance and a Vulnerable Sector Check Available to work flexible hours.
  • 1-year of security guard experience
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership capabilities.
  • Experience working in a high-stress environment with quick responsiveness to emergency situations.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the protection of people, assets, and property.
  • Escort people within the facility, using restraints to ensure the safety of everybody.
  • Demonstrate empathy and compassion and a recognition that you are working with individuals under stress.
  • Observe, monitor, and report on behaviour of detainees.
  • Conduct regular foot patrols - both indoor and outdoor facilities
  • Monitor and properly utilize security software and equipment!
  • Generate daily incident reports.Utilization of tactical training to de-escalate potentially dangerous situations
