Mitie Security are recruiting for dedicated Security professionals to work with us following another successful contract award with South Western Railway – SWR.
To be eligible for this role you must valid CCTV operators SIA licence.
This role is working Monday to Saturday late shifts, exact timings to be confirmed.
The key skills needed for this role is attention to detail, effective communication and remaining calm.
Working within a busy Control Room and alongside the British Transport Police, SWR incident controllers and other key stakeholders, you will be the Operator everyone will turn to during an incident.
Your role is vital to ensuring the safety of all users of the rail network on stations and in Depots. You will be responsible for monitoring live CCTV cameras across the South West, identifying suspicious activities, unauthorised access or safety hazards. You will work alongside other Agencies to review CCTV of any incidents to help establish a timeline of events and identify any suspects.
If a safety concern is raised, you will report this forward to the correct team to attend and resolve. Accurate Brief and Clear reporting is essential to ensure that incidents are bought to the safest possible conclusion. The majority of the communication will be conducted using a radio system or telephone, however, you will also be responsible for updating the SWR team working in the same Control Room as you.
You will be required to have a high level of understanding of how the network operates and have good knowledge of the Station and Depot locations. Full training will be given to ensure the highest level of knowledge is achieved.
Giving exceptional customer service is a must, you will be representing both SWR and Mitie, so making great impressions is a key part of the role.

This CCTV Operators role include, but are not limited to:

• Completing comprehensive shift handovers, ensuring that all relevant information is shared and understood.
• Reporting any faults to the correct team(s) to be resolved.
• Maintaining an accurate record of events, ensuring all escalations are made in a timely manner.
• Monitoring CCTV, in line with the CCTV code of practice 2022, across multiple stations and Depots and reporting any suspicious behaviour or security breach to the correct agency for action and ensuring that live updates are shared in a timely manner.
• Monitor and deploy Railway Safety Officers to locations where incidents have occurred or are likely to occur.
• Maintain a clean and tidy workspace
