POSITION SUMMARY

The Department of Psychiatry at UNC-Chapel Hill is seeking to hire a Master’s level clinician to participate in the research and clinical activities of the Center of Excellence for Eating Disorders (CEED). This position will be responsible for working in a multi-disciplinary team framework to provide primarily outpatient therapy services to patients of all ages with eating disorders. Responsibilities will include conducting psychological evaluations and providing individual, family, couple, and group psychotherapy. Clinical services may at times be delivered in CEED’s inpatient program as well. The Clinical Instructor will also be available to serve as a therapist for funded clinical trials as part of her or his primary duties.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Candidates must have a Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field and have both training and experience in psychotherapy. Candidates must be a licensed therapist in North Carolina with experience working with patients with eating disorders. Candidates must demonstrate strong evidence of interest in eating disorders and training in evidence-based interventions for eating disorders.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES, AND EXPERIENCE

Familiarity with cognitive behavioral therapy, family-based treatment, dialectical behavioral therapy and/or couple therapy is preferred. Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
