Description:

HOW MIGHT YOU DEFY IMAGINATION?

You’ve worked hard to become the professional you are today and are now ready to take the next step in your career. How will you put your skills, experience and passion to work toward your goals? At Amgen, our shared mission—to serve patients—drives all that we do. It is key to our becoming one of the world’s leading biotechnology companies, reaching over 10 million patients worldwide. Come do your best work alongside other innovative, driven professionals in this meaningful role.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Doctorate degree in immunology or related field.
  • Deep understanding of mechanistic immunology, with previous research in the field of antigen processing/presentation or immunopeptidomics.
  • A strong grasp of protein biochemistry
  • A strong background in modern molecular biology techniques.
  • Excellent communicator able to write and speak about technical concepts to business, technical, and lay audiences

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience in sample preparation for mass spectrometry-based proteomics.
  • Experience with standard immunology assays and immunophenotyping.
  • Understanding of or T and B cell biology and de novo immune response mechanisms.
  • A mechanistic understanding of class II antigen processing and presentation.
  • Previous experience modelling T cell responses in vitro
  • Previous experience working with primary human immune cells.

Responsibilities:

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. We are seeking a postdoctoral fellow with previous training in immunology and biochemistry to help develop the next generation of screening tools to identify and quantify the presence of immunogenic sequences, motifs, and structures in candidate therapeutic molecules by leveraging multiple different emerging technology streams. These platforms would then be used to aid in the development of biologic therapies by facilitating the selection or design of therapeutic candidates with reduced immunogenic liabilities. In this vital role you will develop, assess, and integrate new technologies to identify T and B cell epitopes in therapeutic proteins of interest.

  • Lead an effort to develop and implement new B and T cell epitope determination tools and screening platforms.
  • Perform various immune assays utilizing primary human cells to validate experimental data.
  • Critically analyze and interpret data.
  • Explore opportunities to develop and/or deploy relevant machine learning models.
  • Prospect the research space to identify additional emerging technologies.
  • The postdoctoral fellow will receive personalized training in relevant areas of immunology, biochemistry or peptidomics as required
