Description:

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or any other equivalent degree
- 6-7 years’ experience in Indirect Taxes; out of which atleast 4+ years should relate to working on VAT in an in-house Tax function in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) or Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA)
- Should have extensive working experience in VAT Laws of KSA and UAE; and basic knowledge of VAT of other Middle East countries
- Highly motivated with a desire to work hard and exceed objectives/expectations
- Keen attention to detail and is adaptable, flexible and able to work under pressure
- Ability to develop, coach and motivate junior members of the team
- Good with preparing and presenting dashboards and presentations
- Experience working in a Big 4 firm (advantageous but not necessary)
- Excellent communication and ability to interact with multiple senior stakeholders
- English language fluency required, Arabic language is preferred
During your tenure as a VAT Manager, you will demonstrate and develop your capabilities in the following areas:
- Provide support / advise the business lines on different transactions from a VAT perspective
- Proactively identify the risk / exposure during the review of business transactions
- Review the VAT filings across the Middle East before submission with the Tax Authorities
- Undertake regular review of transactions to ensure compliance and readiness for potential Audits in the future
- Assist in identifying VAT on cross-border transactions considering the provisions relating to zero-rating, reverse charge mechanism, etc
- Create VAT awareness within different finance teams
- Conduct training sessions to enhance the knowledge of the finance teams
- Provide advise to the Management on the VAT implications at the time of new business initiatives, restructuring of business model, etc
- Monitor the VAT developments / changes and advise the finance teams regarding it’s impact
- Provide support during IT implementation projects from a VAT compliance and governance perspective
- Provide advise to business finance teams relating to tax provisions
- Assist in preparing / reviewing information during an Audit from the Tax Authorities
- Maintain compliance tracker and monitor on a regular basis
- Prepare a tax process review document which needs to be implemented and followed by all entities
- Assist Tax Director in implementing the Tax Governance Framewor
