Description:

bloomon is turning the flower industry on its head – for the better. How? By disrupting the traditional supply chain! We skip the auction and wholesale, to shorten the journey for our flowers. And we harness technology, brand and innovation to deliver gifts and subscriptions that delight our customers across Europe.
We launched in Amsterdam in 2014, and in 2021 joined forces with Bloom & Wild, the UK’s fastest growing ecommerce company (according to the Financial Times). Our group is backed by top tier investors and is now home to a family of 3 strong brands, Bloom & Wild, bloomon and Bergamotte. Together, we’ve delivered over 20 million orders (and counting!), making us the largest direct to consumer flower business in Europe.
Our vision is to create the destination for making life a little more thoughtful and beautiful. And we won’t stop at flowers and plants. Starting with the Bloom & Wild brand, we’re expanding our gifting offering to other categories like cakes, candles and cocktails. This is all part of our ambition to build Europe’s #1 direct to consumer gifting destination.
️ Operations @ Bloom & Wild Group
The Operations team at bloomon and Bloom & Wild is split into three sub-teams, although in practice there is a close collaboration between all these sub-teams on a daily basis:
- Flower sourcing, styling, and quality - this team is responsible for purchasing our fresh products like flowers and plants, mainly through direct collaboration with growers around the world. They also manage our inbound supply chain and work closely with our flower supply chain partners to optimise quality and costs. Within our own and 3rd party warehouses, they monitor and optimise for styling and quality.
- Warehouse Operations - Across our 3 strong brands we have various warehouses across the EU. The teams based at these sites run our daily production and fulfilment operation of all products we sell. The non-horti procurement of add-ons and packaging items is also part of the scope of this team. They optimise for customer satisfaction, On Time-In Full fulfilment, quality and associated COGS.
- Logistics & 3rd party fulfilment - managing our partially outsourced sourcing, production, and fulfilment in the UK and optimising our delivery organisation in all countries we are active in. The team works closely with our carrier partners (and coordinating our own delivery network) to achieve operational excellence and optimise for customer satisfaction, delivery performance, capacity and associated COGS.
As part of the ‘Warehouse Operations team’, the Central operations planning team is the oil in the machine of our full end-to-end supply chain. In order to ensure an optimal production and fulfilment process in our warehouses, your team is in the middle between the forecasting team, the flower sourcing team, the commercial country teams, logistics and the warehouse teams. By understanding the different and opposing needs of all teams, you navigate to optimise for maximum availability of our products to sell, and minimise wastage on our fresh products. By means of your coordination we unlock and utilise the maximum flexibility in our supply chain, in the most efficient way.

To excel in this role you need a strong analytical mindset, great Excel skills, be driven by achieving clear tangible results and be a rockstar in stakeholder management. If this sounds like you, keep on reading!

  • ️ What you’ll be doing:
  • Be the central point of contact regarding our supply planning for all operational, supply chain, and commercial teams and satisfy all opposing interests in the best way possible
  • Translation of our daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly commercial demand forecast into efficient and flexible supply chain planning for purchasing, intake, production, and fulfilment across our warehouses
  • Master the complex dynamic of our expanding SKU mix with limited freshness shelf life (flowers, plants, home & living, fresh food, drinks)
  • Live gatekeeping of stock levels of all our products, across all countries, brands, and all delivery days, ensuring that where possible we are never sold out but also do not incur significant wastage - in close cooperation with our commercial country teams
  • Operationally keep systems up to date (eg. upload stock availability, keep range plan updated in order tooling, solve availability issues due to product settings in our backend)
  • Solve out-of-stock situations (eg. upgrade individual customer orders/trigger resends/align with Customer Delight on customer communication)
  • Key stakeholders and users of our bespoke production planning tool, our stock management tool, and various dynamic sheets used for supply chain cooperation
  • Ensure accurate stock management and reflection in our system landscape in close collaboration with our warehouses, investigate stock discrepancies, and solve root causes
  • Manage the supply chain planning in general, and the warehouse planning in detail around bank holidays and our yearly peak sales (Valentines, Easter, Mother’s Day, Christmas) from planning to execution.
