Description:
DESCRIPTION
Operate the centralised purchasing system for all staff in the College, acting as a point of contact for budget holders and College staff with regard to all purchasing requirements, placing College orders for good and services, whilst ensuring value for money.
Responsibilities:
The following is an indication of the type and level of the main priorities expected of this role as directed by your line manager and is not intended to be a comprehensive list of duties or tasks:
1. Assist in the procurement function for the College, obtaining ‘best prices’ for goods and services in the College, ensuring full compliance with financial procedures at all times.
2. Ensure that orders are placed accurately and in a timely manner.
3. Act as a point of contact for purchasing and provide support to budget holders and College staff.
4. Assist in the management of budget spend in departments.
5. Reconcile purchasing supplier accounts.
6. Assist in the preparation of monthly value for money reports.
7. Calculate interdepartmental costs to charge out by cost transfer.
8. Assist in asset verification.
In addition all post holders will be required trained to act as Fire Marshals and First Aiders.
