We are seeking a Central Teaching Spaces Operative to join our busy and multifaceted team based within the Directorate of Estates. In this customer-focused role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth scheduling and allocation of centrally timetabled rooms, as well as handling one-off bookings for meetings and conferences.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
- Proven administrative experience in a customer-oriented environment within a large organisation.
- High volume phone handling experience.
- Strong computer literacy, particularly in the use of databases and non-Microsoft Office applications.
- Commitment to delivering top-level customer care.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with attention to detail and effective prioritisation.
DESIRABLE SKILLS:
- Experience in academic administration within a Higher Education Institution (HEI).
- Familiarity with timetable software and academic scheduling.
Responsibilities:
- Process room booking requests and timetabling change reqeusts, ensuring fairness and efficiency throughout.
- Support collaboration with teams such as Timetabling, Conferencing, and Media Services.
- Continuously contribute to the team’s service development, and help to maintain it’s high level of performance.
- Deliver exceptional customer care, handling sensitive issues and offering solutions in challenging circumstances.
- Provide a customer-focused enquiry service for all aspects of central teaching spaces both via phone and email.
- Establish and maintain a wide knowledge of our estate and help to ensure our spaces are in effective working order.
