SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Demonstrated experience in managing the daily operations of an early learning centre including leading, managing, and developing a team
  • Extensive experience developing, teaching and evaluating a high-quality educational program for children aged 0 - 6 years that incorporates best practice and reflects relevant research
  • Comprehensive understanding of Child Protection Laws, application of best practice in child safety principles, and the responsibilities associated with being a Mandatory Reporter
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of the National Quality Framework, including the Law, Regulations, National Quality Standards and the Early Years Learning Framework
  • Knowledge of the Family Assistance Law, Food Safe Law and its application to an Approved Care service
  • Understanding and experience performing the role of Educational Leader and Nominated Supervisor
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Ability and willingness to work collaboratively with other stakeholders within Campus Life and the wider University community to achieve organisational goals
  • Excellent organisational, problem solving and time management skills
  • Computer literacy eg Office 365, Childcare Management System Software

QUALIFICATIONS

  • ACECQA approved Degree in early childhood education
  • Current NESA Accreditation (Proficient or higher)
  • Approved First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualification
  • Working with Children Check
  • Criminal History Check
  • Approved Child Protection training
  • Willingness to obtain a Food Safety Supervisor qualification

Responsibilities:

  • Act as Nominated Supervisor and Educational Leader
  • Manage the operations of the Centre, ensuring provision of high-quality programs while meeting agreed strategic, financial and operational requirements
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, best practice and continuous improvement by managing, leading, developing, providing direction and supporting staff
  • Ensure compliance with, and understanding of the National Quality Framework, Child Protection Laws, the Child Care Subsidy System, and other regulatory requirements
  • Establish, develop, and manage positive relationships with children and families
  • Build relationships and work collaboratively with key stakeholders across Campus Life, the broader University, and external partners to support service delivery and promote the Centre
  • Work with the broader early learning and Campus Life teams in the development and implementation of diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives
