• Schedule: PRN, as needed, Day shift, 6-8 hour flexible shifts, afternoons preferred

• Location: Southfield, MI

REQUIREMENTS

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Certification specializing in Lactation obtained within 24 Months (2 years) of hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate’s degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Provide lactation care and instruction to breastfeeding mothers and infants. Serve as a lactation-related clinical resource, educator, and mentor.

• Perform initial and on-going assessments of patients’ lactation goals and issues. Instruct and demonstrate proper techniques and promote the importance of breastfeeding.
• Identify the need for standard patient teaching plans and assists with their development.
• Act as a liaison to staff and physicians when addressing needs associated with breastfeeding.
• Contribute to the development of data tools to monitor and improve outcomes.
