THE OPPORTUNITY:
We are looking for a versatile professional to join our team on a full-time basis as a cross-trained Certified Medical Assistant and Medical Receptionist. Compensation ranges from $18.00 to $22.00 per hour, depending on experience.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Accredited Medical Assistant Program degree
- Current/active CMA, CCMA, or RMA certification or ability to obtain within 90 days from hire
- 1+ years of experience in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred
- Proficiency with EMR systems, preferably Athena
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and telephone skills
- Basic computer skills, including Word and Excel
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification processes is advantageous
Responsibilities:
Certified Medical Assistant Duties:
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are well-stocked.
- Assist providers with patient care, including lab tests and administering medications.
- Educate patients on medication and diet plans.
- Maintain accurate medical records and handle billing information.
- Manage medical supplies and equipment.
- Ensure patient confidentiality and stay updated with industry knowledge.
- Communicate effectively with patients and staff.
Medical Receptionist Duties:
- Answer and manage incoming phone calls professionally.
- Schedule patient appointments and verify insurance coverage.
- Address patient inquiries and assist with billing issues.
- Update patient records in the EMR system accurately.
- Contact patients for appointment confirmations and reminders.
- Perform clerical duties such as greeting patients, managing mail, and coordinating referrals.
