Job Description
In partnership with the state funded Morris School District Preschool Expansion Program, the F.M. Kirby Children’s Center of the Madison Area YMCA is seeking a full-time lead teacher with a P-3 certification.
The lead teacher will be responsible for planning and implementing curriculum, the health and safety of the children, communication with parents and supervision and evaluation of classroom staff.
This is a school year (August 2024 - June 2025) contract position, and the hours required for this position are 8:45am-4:00pm and will follow the Morris School District calendar.
Qualifications
- New Jersey State P-3 certification required.
- Curriculum planning experience is preferred.
- Previous experience with supervisory experience.
- Possess at hire and maintain CPR, First Aid, & AED certifications. Will train.
Essential Functions
- Prepare and carry out developmentally appropriate curriculum and daily activities for the children.
- Supervise, mentor, and guide assistant teachers.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for optimal growth and development.
- Be responsible for recording and maintaining all required paperwork.
- Attend professional development days and staff and parent meetings.
