Description:
Convergint is currently recruiting for a Certified Fire Alarm Technician (CFAA) to join our service team at our Calgary location. As the Fire Alarm Technician, you will be responsible for providing customer and technical support for new and installed fire alarm systems that are moderately complex.

Responsibilities:
- Test, repair, and service a variety of fire alarm systems and equipment with guidance as needed. Uses solid troubleshooting skills to isolate and fix problems in malfunctioning equipment or software.
- Identifies and resolves problems for most types of service calls including emergency calls; analyzes repair requirements and provides customer with appropriate solutions; completes necessary repairs and replacements as needed; Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining results. May require originality and ingenuity in some situations.
- Using technical knowledge, skills and experience, may act as mentor for less experienced staff. May provide guidance to workers in testing, annual inspections, and adjusting equipment to obtain optimum operating performance.
- Effectively communicate project requirements and status including project change proposals and related project activities on a regular basis to project manager/supervisor. Completes work on time and according to project schedules including project change proposals.
- Perform wiring checkout, system start-ups, and programming using commissioning tools. Complete final adjustments, calibration and commissioning reports on systems.
- Complete accurate and detailed service reports for customer and Convergint to allow for accurate invoicing and job cost tracking.
- Acts as “our customer’s best service provider” at all times thereby ensuring Convergint is the customer’s first choice for service.
