The Advanced Simulations department supports clients across various industries with complex fluid dynamics and multi-physics challenges. We utilize a range of tools, from simple scripting to advanced CFD simulations. Our clients are located in different regions and operate in diverse markets, including Building, Energy, Environmental & Health, Transport, and Water.
Due to the growing demand for advanced CFD services, we are seeking CFD engineers to support our continuous development efforts. We are focused on candidates with CFD knowledge in
- Cleanroom HVAC design
- Combustion / chemical modelling
- CFD and Machine learning
By joining the team, you’ll have the opportunity to assist clients in creating more sustainable solutions and reducing their carbon footprint through continuous design improvements using advanced CFD simulations. This approach provides key insights and a foundation for evidence-based decision-making at both small and large scales. In addition to our support for Ramboll’s broader markets, we specifically concentrate on addressing intricate flow and multi-physics challenges in sectors like Renewable Energy and Energy Transition, Datacentres, Manufacturing, Pharmaceutical Industry, Air Quality & Microclimate.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION:
- Master’s degree in engineering, or a similar field, with focus on fluid-dynamics and numerical simulation (CFD).
- Deep understanding of thermodynamics, fluid-dynamics and numerical simulation.
- Minimum of 2-years of relevant experience with commercial and/or open source CFD codes.
- Candidates with proven knowledge in one of the specials focus areas are encouraged irrespective of the professional experience.
- Ability to plan and perform quality work within deadlines.
- Legal right to work in Denmark.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION:
- Proven experience in understand and using the following CFD codes: OpenFOAM (ideally Engys Helyx) and Star-CCM+ CFD codes.
- Deep understanding of one or more of the following fields: Buildings (Cleanrooms and HVAC), Process/Chemical/Combustion, Modelling, Machine learning/AI.
- Project management experience.
- Willingness to interact with Clients and stakeholders to ensure the success of the project.
- Experience with technical sales activities.
- Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to communicate results through presentations and reports.
- Problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work closely with colleagues ensuring that the quality of the deliverables and deadlines are met.
- Familiarity with Linux based High-Performance Computing (HPC) systems or HPC on the Cloud.
- Experience in programming in Python, Bash and Java.
- Familiarity with commercial CAD tools (Rhino or similar 3D CAD software)
- Proficient in English and Danish (not mandatory), verbally and in writing.
Responsibilities:
- Understand client needs and help scoping CFD modelling services.
- Delivery of CFD services across disciplines. Typical tasks will include pre-processing, simulation, post-postprocessing, data analytics and reporting.
- Work independently while communicating and coordinating with colleagues, project managers and clients.
- Support the ideation, sales and tendering activities of the team towards external clients and help our colleagues in other parts of Ramboll.
- Take part to the maintenance and development of both existing and novel CFD methodology integrated workflows.
