Description:

We are on the lookout for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our client based in SAN FRANCISCO, California. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity. As a CFO, you will be in charge of managing all financial operations within the organization, including budget management, forecasting needs, securing new funding, coordinating auditing processes, and managing accounting operations.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on the strategic vision of the organization, ensuring the financial management aligns with the overall goals.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies and systems.
  • Oversee, review, and adhere to the budgets for each department.
  • Act as a key point of contact for external auditors; manage preparation and support of all external audits.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by researching existing and new legislation, consulting with outside advisors.
  • Coordinate, analyze, and report the financial performance to Management and Board of Directors.
  • Implement procedures to improve financial efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Oversee investment strategies and ensure they are consistent with the organization’s mission and the directions of the Board.
  • Conduct monthly financial budgeting reports, including monthly profit and loss by division, forecast versus budget by division.
  • Manage all accounting functions, including business systems, auditing, budget processes, capital management, cash flow analysis, and payroll.
  • Must hold a minimum of 15 years of experience in a senior financial managerial position
  • Proven experience with business systems and their integration into financial operations
  • Proficiency in conducting and managing accounting functions
  • Demonstrable expertise in auditing and compliance
  • Strong knowledge of budget processes and financial forecasting
  • Expertise in capital management strategies
  • Proficient in cash flow analysis and financial reporting
  • Experience with Sage Intacct and ADP for payroll processing
  • Excellent leadership, strategic planning, and business development skills
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required
  • Professional accounting certification, such as CFA or CPA, is highly desirable.
