Description:
We are in the search for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our team in the construction industry, based in PORTAGE, Michigan. In this role, you will oversee all financial operations and provide strategic financial input to senior management. This position offers an exciting opportunity to manage financial risks and opportunities within the organization, taking a holistic approach to understanding every aspect of our company.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the company’s financial and accounting practices, including payables, receivables, payroll, financial control systems, and audit systems.
- Plan, organize, and manage the annual budget process.
- Prepare, present, and interpret financial reports to the company’s Board of Directors, stakeholders, and executives.
- Implement innovative financial systems and processes to enhance transparency, scalability, and forecasting accuracy.
- Establish performance indicators and monitor progress against strategic goals.
- Ensure the company adheres to all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Provide advice on long-term business and financial planning and investments.
- Utilize Accounting Software Systems and CRM to streamline accounting functions and enhance business systems.
- Conduct regular Auditing and Budget Processes to ensure financial accuracy.
- Perform Cash Flow Analysis and Cost Variance Analysis to make informed financial decisions.
- Must hold a minimum of 15 years of experience in a finance-related role, preferably with a significant portion in a leadership position.
- Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is essential.
- Experience with Business Systems is required.
- Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems is necessary.
- Demonstrable knowledge of Accounting Functions and Auditing is crucial.
- Experience in managing Budget Processes is required.
- Must have a solid understanding of Capital Management.
- Proficiency in Cash Flow Analysis and Cost Variance is essential.
- Ability to Analyze Variance is a key requirement.
- Must have excellent communication and leadership skills.
- A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field is required, an MBA or related advanced degree is preferred.
- Professional certification such as CPA, CMA, or similar is preferred.
- Strong strategic planning and business development skills are essential.
- Experience in a global business environment is a plus.
- Must have excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and act tactically.
- Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Must have strong ethics, with the ability to manage confidential data.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Must have a strong understanding of regulatory standards in the finance industry.
