QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/JOB REQUIREMENTS (ABOUT YOU):

  • 10 years financial analyst and/or accounting experience required.
  • Prior managerial experience as an executive, functional lead required.
  • Undergraduate bachelor’s degree required.
  • Recognized professional accounting designation preferred (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA).
  • MBA in Business, Finance or Accounting preferred.
  • Exposure/familiarity to Lean Six Sigma environment is an asset.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheets.
  • Financial and strategic planning, forecasting, managing profitability, and budget development.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate flexibly up and down the organization.
  • Excellent time management, problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities:

ROLE:

The CFO, Vice President Finance is member of the Sysco Latin America, Caribbean & Export (LACE) Leadership Team. As the trusted advisor, the role provides overall financial leadership responsible for providing effective control, and oversight of the organization’s finances while actively contributing to its future direction and growth. Specifically, the role leads the finance and accounting team in preparation of financial reports and briefings including P&L, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and facilitates the business planning of the region.
The incumbent will help identify operational improvements and critical action plans to address any performance issues vs annual budget and is responsible for the wider control environment including the safeguarding of company assets, key system-controls and overall compliance with Sysco’s required SOX obligations.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides leadership, direction and management of the Accounting, Finance, Credit, and Inventory Control teams.
  • Provide leadership related to the execution and monitoring of the annual plan, business transformation initiatives, and operational initiatives for locations within LACE.
  • Through extensive analysis and cost formulation practices, develops and recommends plans for expansion of existing programs, operations, and financial activities.
  • Ensure standardization of accounting practices, procedures and reporting.
  • Provide the LACE leadership and management team a clear analysis of the impact of key actions to financial results.
  • Identify, with the LACE President and senior management teams, the key actions needed to affect the financial results and achieve plan.
  • Monitor action plans to ensure planned and long-term results are attained.
  • Lead the preparation of ongoing, rolling 18 month forecasts each month projecting the volumes, expenses and profit.
  • Monitor and evaluate the contribution of all departments to operating results.
  • Evaluates and prepares business cases for capital expenditures and other strategic initiatives.
  • Provides continuous direction and guidance to other departments to ensure the safeguarding of company assets.
  • Directs or conducts management studies and prepares workload and budget estimates for specified or assigned operations.
  • Analyzes and submits operational activity reports and helps identify potential problems; recommends necessary actions to correct those identified.
  • Consistently provides comprehensive audits of internal company operations.
  • Ensures optimum return rate on investments/company assets.
  • Develops long range planning schedules that can be utilized by the company.
  • Liaises with key stakeholders at Sysco Corporate, Houston to leverage best practice methodologies and systems
  • Complies with Sysco’s Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met.
  • Understands both the economic and cultural value that a safe organization with minimal environmental impact brings to an organization.
  • Is willing to drive Environmental, Health and Safety performance by providing necessary resources and holding their team accountable to complying with EHS programs, policies, and requirements.
  • Positively influence and shape a large and inclusive organizational culture to be one that’s productive, vibrant, and a desirable place to work.
