PERSON SPECIFICATION

We are looking for someone who is a proactive self-starter who can lead on their own initiative, is comfortable to work with ambiguity and has great interpersonal skills to engage and support CCMD, as well as personal resilience to reflect on challenges and problem solve effective solutions. The successful candidate will be able to identify the potential impact of change within the directorate, what challenges there will be, and plan to reduce the risk. They will be able to land change in ways that improve the perception of change across CCMD and promote a culture of sharing best practice.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS REQUIRED AND DESIRABLE

  • Experience and knowledge of business change either as a change practitioner or in a human resources or project delivery role
  • Demonstrable experience working with a range of important stakeholders, building effective working relationships across teams and seniority levels, including influencing busy colleagues and senior stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal to effectively communicate with stakeholders, employees, and other key individuals within the organisation
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships
  • Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal
  • Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations
  • Organised with a natural inclination for planning strategy
  • Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with and through others

DESIRABLE SKILLS

  • Experience of engaging and mobilising a range of stakeholders to support change and build capability
  • Familiarity with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle
  • Relevant professional qualifications such as Change Management Foundation or Practitioner, CIPD, Prince2 or APM

Responsibilities:

The Change Business Partner (G7) will lead the delivery of change activity across complex projects and programmes and report adoption status to various stakeholders. The post holder will identify risks, and design and deliver mitigation strategies and interventions which support successful adoption of change.
The Post holder will lead on embedding a clear vision and standards and provide visible and effective leadership in the effective introduction of business change activity. They will lead on the design and delivery of targeted interventions to ensure groups affected are meaningfully engaged, supported and upskilled to adopt the change. They will lead Stakeholder Engagement at a Senior Level, Communicating and Influencing to ensure that all impacted users of a change are ready to receive and use the final product at the point of implementation.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting change owners to effectively lead and manage change initiatives to ensure successful readiness for delivering strategic goals and objectives.
  • Developing change management strategies and plans to facilitate smooth transitions and minimise resistance to change.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders, including senior leadership, portfolio leads and employees across CCMD, to communicate the need for change and build support.
  • Identifying potential risks and challenges associated with change initiatives and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Providing guidance and support to staff members affected by the change, including training and development programs.
  • Developing communication strategies (in collaboration with the Strategy & Engagement Team), and training programs to support delivery of change management strategies.
  • Taking a customer centred approach to understand the change, challenges and working with the directorate to develop solutions.

This post holder will need to be responsive, able to work in a fast-paced environment and to quickly re-prioritise when needed. They will engage at G6 level and above to:

  • Assess readiness for change
  • Manage risks and issues
  • Oversee implementation
  • Ensure processes and governance is in place to embed the change
