JOB SUMMARY
Standard Chartered’s Markets business is looking for a Change Manager. Markets is an essential part of the Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) business of Standard Chartered Bank spanning across Asia, Africa, the Middle East, the UK and US. Markets business combines an in-depth knowledge of local markets with global products expertise to offer the best financial solutions. It provides reliable access to a wide range of currency markets, accurate local market information, efficient risk management strategies, and capital raising as well as liquidity management solutions for its clients.
The Change Manager will be responsible for analysing current state, refining key problem statements, and facilitating the design & implementation of solutions. They will also partner with Business, COO, Operations, Technology teams and other internal functions to ensure that there is a credible execution roadmap and be a catalyst for accelerated delivery of outcomes. As a business partner to the Chief Product Owners, ensure the Initiative(s) are setup for success and manage all aspects of the change delivery including effective communication and ensuring testing and operational readiness is completed prior to go-live.
In this role, the successful candidate will be exposed to a highly dynamic area of Standard Chartered and will be critical in ensuring that the Markets business can continue to service clients in an ever-changing business environment and support business strategy by enabling scalable front-to-back changes required for Market’s key initiatives. Understand the stakeholders needs and ensure that the Initiative(s) are delivering maximum value for the Markets business and its clients, while adhering to good change governance and best practices.
This role will provide the successful candidate with the exposure to the broader Chief Operating Officer community, as well as the Markets business.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- At least 5 years of experience in managing change and complex front-to-back projects covering scope, planning, financial, resource and risk and issues management
- Proven track record in successfully delivering change in Financial Markets through agile project methodologies
- Knowledge of Financial Markets’ products and previous experience with financial markets trading products directly with front office or functions or as business manager / change manager
- Flexible and adaptable, able to work in ambiguous situations
- Problem solving and organisation skills with excellent attention to detail
- Interpersonal and relationship building skills to successfully drive initiatives with senior stakeholders
- Analytical thinking with strong business analysis and planning skills; capable of identifying and interpreting a wide range of issues, and a ‘big picture’ understanding
- Working experience in Business Process Improvement, Operational Risk and Process Management (nice to have)
- Appropriate certifications, such as PRINCE 2 / PMP / PROSCI (nice to have)
Responsibilities:
- Manage Change delivery ensuring the delivery teams are setup for success and deliverables closely tracked and stakeholders well engaged
- Ensure Product strategy is translated into a scalable business architecture delivering streamlined and digitised front to back product lifecycle supported by robust controls
- Run Working Group meetings, track actions and facilitate issue resolution
- Support stakeholders to escalate any critical issues with deliverables and facilitate meetings to resolve impediments and issues
- Co-ordinate responses to internal and regulatory requests, ensuring progress against plans is clearly communicated and issues are articulated well
- Partner with Technology and Operations teams to identify the impacted products, systems and processes and be a subject matter expert in helping to identify and drive solutions
- Ensure detailed remediation plans are in place to address impacted products, systems and processes
- Coordinate testing with users and Technology teams, where relevant
- Manage internal communications to different stakeholder groups to ensure they are kept up to date with relevant developments and project milestones
