Description:

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a developing charity, creating and implementing processes and procedures to increase efficiency and ensure organisation. The London Ambulance Charity has a growing annual income and a short history of pro-actively fundraising and seeking support from patients and supporters. The Trust Board has recently approved an ambitious 5-year strategy for the Charity, which includes creating a dedicated Charity team to oversee the charitable funds.
The post of Charity Development Administrator is an important link between the NHS charity and the staff and volunteers of London Ambulance Service. The post holder will be responsible for leading on a wide range of administrative and co-ordination for the Charity. He/she will lead, plan and deliver on specific projects of work, including working internally with Charity Champions across the organisation and supporting charity-hosted events.
The purpose of this role is to provide programme and project support to the wider team to meet the Charity’s internal and external objectives. The post holder must exercise initiative, prioritise efficiently and effectively, and be adept at creating organisational processes and procedures to maximise resourcefulness.
The London Ambulance Service Charitable Fund (the Charity) is the official registered NHS charity raising voluntary income to support one of the busiest ambulance services in the UK, if not the world; the London Ambulance Service NHS Trust. The Charity raises vital funds to add value to London Ambulance Service, providing enhancements and initiatives which are beyond what’s capable solely with statutory government funding.
London Ambulance Service serves one of the world’s most dynamic and diverse cities and is the busiest ambulance service in the UK. We handle over 1.9 million emergency calls from across the capital every year as well as delivering a 24 hour NHS 111 Integrated Urgent Care Service in South East and North East London that we estimate will respond to around 1.4 million urgent care calls by the end of the year.
We employ over 9,000 people who work or volunteer, across London to respond to the health needs of over 8 million people who live, work and travel in the capital.
We work closely with our NHS partners and are commissioned by 32 clinical commissioning groups spread across 5 STPs and NHS England for our specialist services.
As the only pan-London NHS provider we have a unique opportunity to play a leading role in integrating access to emergency and urgent care right across London.
Provide administrative support to the Head of Charity and wider charity team including Director of Communications in the absence of Head of Charity.
Support the running of the Charity Operational Group meetings, attended by Directors, senior Finance staff, patient representative, union representatives, Charity and Wellbeing staff, taking, producing and circulating minutes, actions and agenda.
Build relationships and work with the staff and volunteers from across the Service to recruit support for Charity events and fundraising initiatives, for instance NHS Big Tea on NHS
birthday, Outrun an Ambulance, London Marathon etc.
