Description:

The 4* Maritime Hotel, Bantry, West Cork is currently recruiting for an experienced Chef de Partie. Awarded as a Great Place to Work for 2023 and 2024 and home to 120 bedrooms, the Ocean Restaurant, Maritime Bar and Windward Banqueting Suite, The Maritime has a strong leisure business and is a firm favourite for local special occasions and family celebrations.
This role will work under our Head Chef Adrian Biffen and you will be joining a really great team where the focus is on teamwork, excellence and showing casing the best of local produce.
This role will suit you if you are at CDP level in a smaller property, or demi CDP level in a similar sized property and are looking to continue learning and take on a new challenge.
Accommodation can be provided if required.
Applicants must ensure that they have legal status to work in Ireland.

Main responsibilities

  • To work with a dedicated team overseeing and running a section of the kitchen as required ensuring consistency of food preparation and service.
  • To help in mentoring and coaching junior members of the kitchen team.
  • To contribute to menu planning so that the menus keep evolving in line with seasonality and food trends.
  • To ensure compliance with all HACCP, Health & Safety regulations

Requirements

  • 2 years at demi or Chef de Partie level with experience in high volume catering
  • Strong knowledge and passion for exceptional food production and presentation
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and communication skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative but equally comfortable working as part of a team.
