Description:

YOU MUST HAVE/BE:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a commercial kitchen
  • Level 3 National Certificate in Hospitality (Professional Cookery) ideal
  • Excellent leadership, communication and people skills
  • Ability to prioritise, multitask, show initiative and work well under pressure
  • Experience dealing with suppliers and the ordering processes
  • Honest, dependable, diligent, flexible and enthusiastic

Responsibilities:

The main responsibility of the Chef de Partie is to assist the Head Chef and the rest of the Kitchen team in the day-to-day operation of the kitchen and to coordinate particular sections of production as designated by the Head Chef, while producing high quality food offerings for our customers.
We currently have two Chef de Partie positions to fill, as below:
Chef de Partie - The Foundry|OnCampus: Based at The Foundry kitchen in Ilam, this is a permanent, university term time, position for a minimum of 32 hours each week, which will include afternoon/evening shifts and weekend work.
Chef de Partie - Christchurch Adventure Park: Based at the Christchurch Adventure Park Cafe, this is a permanent position for a minimum of 60 hours per fortnight, which will include afternoon/evening shifts and weekend work.
