Itchen Valley Country Park is seeking experienced cooks to provide weekend cover preparing meals and snacks in a lively country park setting.
The Role
You will be working in a fully equipped kitchen with other catering staff, based at Itchen Valley Country Park’s Woodland Café, run by Eastleigh Borough Council, and be part of an enthusiastic and friendly Catering team- preparing, cooking and serving food from a set menu. Your will be responsible for providing excellent customer service with appropriate food presentation , preparing selection of buffets to specification ensuring kitchen cleaning regimes are adhered to.
About You
You will be required to manage the kitchen independently to cover holidays and breaks.Experience of working in a relevant catering environment is preferable. Knowledge of catering techniques, relevant health and safety legislation and food hygiene qualifications would be an advantage; however, all relevant training will be provided. We welcome applications from less experienced individuals who are willing and committed to progress their career with Eastleigh Borough Council. You will be a required to work weekends, as per a rota. Additional hours will be considered, but weekend availability between 09.00 am and 5.00 pm is required.
