SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Proven experience in a similar role - previous Aged Care experience would be an advantage
  • Commercial kitchen and or café experience preferred.
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Food industry qualification
  • Excellent food hygiene practices and personal presentation.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

Our dedicated kitchen team are looking for an experienced and passionate Chef to join them on a Full-time basis at our stunning retirement village, Pohutukawa Landings in Beachlands, East Auckland. You will be responsible for whipping up delicious quality meals and designing tasty menus for our residents in a restaurant/cafe and brand-new care home environment. Alongside our Food Services manager you will help lead our team ensuring the coordination of the kitchen is effortless.
Reporting to the Food Services Manager, this role is working 30 hours per week across mostly daytime shifts and the occasional evening event, but it will include weekend work, so flexibility is required. There may also be opportunity to pick up additional hours if desired.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Creating delicious food in a restaurant environment
  • Coordinating the kitchen to ensure it operates effortlessly.
  • Maintaining a high standard of food with consistent portion sizes and outstanding presentation.
  • Using your leadership skills to support our kitchen team alongside our Food Services Manager.
  • Take responsibility for the overall management of the kitchen in the absence of the Food Services manager.
