JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a talented and passionate South Indian Chef to join our team at a South Indian restaurant located in the picturesque garden city of Kent, Tonbridge Wells. The ideal candidate will have a deep appreciation for authentic South Indian cuisine and a proven track record of creating flavorful and high-quality dishes. This role requires expertise in kitchen management, food preparation, and team collaboration.
EXPERIENCE
- A culinary degree or certification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a South Indian kitchen.
- Proven experience as a Chef in a restaurant or similar hospitality setting.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
- Demonstrated ability in team management and leadership within a kitchen environment.
- Experience in menu planning, food production, and cost control is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with others.
- Sponsorship will be considered for suitable candidates after a successful probation period.

- Expertly prepare and cook traditional South Indian dishes, including rice, lentils, curries, and rice-based specialties.
- Roast and grind spices to create authentic masalas and signature flavors.
- Prepare chutneys, pickles, and other accompaniments to complement the main dishes.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety in the kitchen.
- Collaborate with other chefs and kitchen staff to ensure efficient operations and timely delivery of orders.
- Assist in developing new menu items or variations of classic South Indian dishes.
- Requirements:
- Proven experience as a South Indian Chef or a similar role in a reputable establishment.
- Proficiency in food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations specific to South Indian cuisine.
