Description:

THE OPPORTUNITY

This role represents a fantastic opportunity to join the Mulpha Hospitality Group at an exciting time as our portfolio grows across Queensland. We’re looking for a highly skilled and dynamic senior chef who doesn’t want to be tied down to one location.
This role will operate across our four venues – Edgewater Dinning & Isla Cantina in Surfers Paradise, and Ioesco Restaurant and the Cove Tavern in Sanctuary Cove.

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

The primary function of this role will be to support our current Head Chefs and Sous Chefs to assist them in the day-to-day operations of the kitchen and will work closely with the Venue Management Teams and the QLD Operations Manager.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Provide hands-on support for our Head & Sous Chefs across our Queensland venues
  • Assist as needed across a variety of kitchens and services, covering all sections and back filling roles as needed
  • Provide support to venues when rolling out new menus and systems, ensuring consistently high standards of food preparation, presentation and quality
  • Provide support to venue chefs and management team with the implementation of companywide Standards
  • Assist senior venue Chefs to ensure all venues operate efficiently and within budget
  • Assist with food costs and wastage
  • Provide ongoing mentorship to junior staff members through training & leadership

What are we looking for?

  • An experienced senior chef with strong leadership and staff management skills
  • A diverse culinary background and ability to cook consistently in a variety of different cuisines and styles
  • A great attitude and ability to teach and mentor as well as impeccable communication skills and work ethic
  • Strong understanding of modern kitchen operations and practices
  • A solid understanding of stock control, ordering, and food safety and WHS
  • Proven ability to produce high quality meals in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to engage and support senior venue chefs
  • Full drivers license and willingness and ability to commute between venues as needed
