It is the intention of NAGASE (EUROPA) GmbH to increase its business.
And increasing the business means increasing responsibilities and duties. Duties in several directions: To employees, customers, suppliers, the infrastructure we are living and working in etc.
In order to get all these things done, we are looking for a “Chemical Compliance Manager (m/f/d)” who is willing and able to take all these variable tasks and manage them to support the growth of business.
The position holder will report directly to the Chemical Compliance Unit Manager.
In this this key function the Chemical Compliance Manager has to assure that NAGASE´s products and services and the related businesses are in complete accordance with all relevant national and international laws and regulations, e. g. REACH.
Another important role is to take care about all intercompany procedures and processes, related to his/her area of responsibility, so that they also follow all valid laws and regulations. Not forget to mention that the position holder manages the company-internal information flow, taking into consideration the different competences and levels of discretion.
In this role the Chemical Compliance Manager is acting as an interface between the General Management and the decision makers of the various divisions. Generally speaking, the Chemical Compliance Manager is acting cross-departmental, because the position holder is not “belonging” to a single area of expertise.
This means, the Chemical Compliance Manager will implement and maintain compliance programs which will allow to identify risks, preventing and easing damages related to compliance with laws and regulations of all countries where NAGASE operates. Instead of that the person is taking care about all common risk-minimizing-tools and legal basic principles of all departments in NAGASE (EUROPA) GmbH.

YOUR PROFILE

Among others you, as an ideal candidate, should fulfil the following requirements:

  • You have a university degree, preferable in Chemistry (or in Toxicology)
  • You should have practical experience of at least 2 years in the area of chemicals legislation (REACH, CLP, import/export etc.)
  • You have basic know-how about preparation and verification of Safety Data Sheets
  • Experience with SAP- and ECHA-tools are preferable
  • Excellent skills in German and English language, spoken and written
  • Experience in handling MS Office appliances
  • You have excellent cross-cultural communication skills
  • You are able to work in a team but additionally you are working self-reliant and outcome-oriented
  • You should have a keen and fast perception
  • You should be highly motivated to improve your “compliance-skills” Summing up you will find a vacancy that contains the administration of the existing and it´s further development in order to meet necessary new laws and regulations.

We are looking for you as a candidate who is handling his/her area of responsibility target oriented. You should be assertive on one hand; on the other hand, you should command the necessary rate of diplomacy. You should have developed a keen sense for possible problem-solutions and you are used to argue convincingly so that your proposed ideas could be introduced as soon as necessary. You are taking care of being always up to date with the latest available version of laws and regulations.
As a Chemical Compliance Manager you will familiarize yourself more and more with the company, the processes in place as well as the market environment. You will adopt this know-how and make sure that everything is in line with legal requirements. We expect a personality who is introverted enough on one hand in order to find room for investigating the applicable laws and regulations. On the other hand, the person should be as extroverted as necessary to communicate all changes in law, processes etc.
Two main characteristics of our Chemical Compliance Manager should be seriousness and reliability. These are the preconditions to be accepted as a trustful compliance-partner, internally as well as externally. The candidate should acquire the acceptance of his counterparts by arguments and solutions rather than by function or title. Integrity, loyalty and flexibility are completing the picture of an ideal candidate.
