We are seeking a Chemical Lab Technician Specialist for a key client of ours in Tucson, Arizona. In this role you will join the lab technician team for a hydrometallurgical mining lab.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct research to improve hydrometallurgical processes in the mining industry, with a primary focus on the research program for leaching. You will execute laboratory experiments, and pilot-scale tests to evaluate results.
• Perform all standard hydrometallurgical analysis and procedures with a focus on leaching activities; processing ore samples, running column tests, and operating and maintaining lab equipment.
• Provide regular project updates to management, supporting scientists, marketing, sales, and tech service colleagues.
• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, metallurgy, mining, civil engineering or other related discipline
• Experience of analytical chemistry - particularly with AA, ICP-OES, HPLC, LC-MS
• Experience in a research-oriented environment leading to product development
• Individual must have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a global, matrixed organization
• Must be self-directed, self-motivated and be effective at communicating with internal and external customers
